TRAPPERS OF TIME...

Seeing beyond what you can imagine. It’s not just about what I see, it’s how I see it. I see the world differently, I see light differently, I see shapes differently and yes for myself, I see time differently. I love capturing not only a single moment in time but a short span of time with a long exposure. Seeing the world through my lens, I can dream and create my minds eye, my vision, the fire that is within me! Just imagine...

Aloha, my name is Ryan Sakamoto & I’ve been doing photography for the last 20 years & it has evolved as a creative outlet and is now my full-time business. the majority of my work today revolves around the business of photography, especially working with natural light & not depending on my strobes to light my subject. Yes, it’s been a huge learning curve, but understanding light has been the key to my growth as a photographer, with or without strobes.

This website is more of a documentary of the creative side of my photography. This is where I have more time to plan a photo shoot & as well as falling flat on my face & scrapping an entire shoot because the images did not live up to my vision. I do have to say that I have very high standards, which can be a good & bad thing! I believe that’s the reason why I stayed away from natural light as long as I have!

My business website, HiLifePhoto.com, focuses more on couples, elopement, engagement, family & senior portraits. Natural light photography with a touch of flash…sometimes. If you have some time, please drop in & browse the images…With much Aloha, Ryan
