Aloha, my name is Ryan Sakamoto, I am a professional photographer here on the island of Oahu in Honolulu Hawaii. I’ve been doing photography for the last 20 years & it has evolved as a creative outlet and is now my full-time business. the majority of my work today revolves around the business of photography, especially working with both natural light & strobes (flash) to light my subject. Yes, it’s been a huge learning curve, but understanding light has been the key to my growth as a Oahu photographer.

This website is more of a documentary of the creative side of my photography. This is where I have more time to plan a photo shoot & as well as falling flat on my face & scrapping an entire shoot because the images did not live up to my vision. I do have to say that I have very high standards, which can be a good & bad thing! I believe that’s the reason why I stayed away from natural light as long as I have!
