After using the Fuji XPro2 for 4 months & shooing sunrise for the past 2 weeks I have to retract my earlier statement "I was so disappointed at the noise in the image, & thought there was no way I could make a print from this file." I've produced some amazing images in the last 2 weeks of shooting sunrise with this very same Fuji camera!
I finally figured out why my images were so noisy, the xPro2 battery gets pretty hot during long exposure shots or prolonged shooting. With more heat the sensor will create more noise. On top of the heat issue, I cover my camera with a Manfrotto Elements Rain Cover, a thick clear plastic bag with 2 hand openings on each side. The plastic bag rain cover will act as insulation within the bag which will make it even hotter than normal.
The last 2weeks I did not use my rain cover & had the XPro2 exposed to the wind & that actually helped keep the body surrounding the battery cooler. Which also helped keep the sensor cooler creating less noise. That took a while to figure out!
Aloha a hui hou my friends!
